Delicious food is born of honest ingredients, fresh quality and great passion. In our restaurant, regional specialities, homemade delicacies and fine wines from the Bergstrasse await you. Every now and then, our kitchen surprises you with special touches to keep offering your taste buds something excitingly new.

Monday to Saturday: from 4:30 pm
Sunday: 12–2 pm & from 4:30 pm
Sunday evenings from May to September only.

Regional Delicacies
We know exactly where our food comes from – and you can taste it in every bite.
We source our meat, trout, cheese, eggs, fruit and vegetables almost exclusively from regional farms and suppliers. Our baked goods made by the bakery around the corner. Even our wines and spirits come from people we know personally and trust.
For us, love of our home region begins with sourcing – and good food starts with the best ingredients found right on our doorstep. We are proud to have been awarded two Golden State Lions (“Goldene Landeslöwen”) by Hessen à la carte – as a member of Germany’s oldest regional quality association. This award confirms our passion for Hessian products, sustainability and the highest quality.

Celebrations at the Goldener Engel
Some moments in life deserve a special celebration – and that’s exactly what we’re here for! Whether it’s a birthday, an anniversary or a get-together with your loved ones: at the Goldener Engel, you’ll experience golden moments.
Our former tailors’ guild room seats up to 20 guests – a place full of history, warmth and charm. For larger celebrations or events, our entire restaurant can be booked, accommodating up to 60 people – and in fine weather we extend into the outdoor area, where up to 70 guests can be seated. Our angels are on duty and take care of everything, from delicious food to attentive service, so you can sit back and savour every moment.
