GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Hotel – Restaurant Goldener Engel, Großer Markt 2, 64646 Heppenheim

  1. The guest accommodation contract (rental contract) is concluded as soon as the room or function room has been ordered or confirmed, or, if confirmation was no longer possible for reasons of time, has been made available.
  2. The conclusion of the guest accommodation contract (rental contract) obliges the contracting parties to fulfil the contract, regardless of the duration for which the contract has been concluded. The contract cannot be terminated unilaterally.
  3. Option dates are binding for both contracting parties. The hotel reserves the right to let the reserved rooms or function rooms to other parties once the option dates have expired.
  4. Reserved hotel rooms are available to the guest from 4:00 pm on the day of arrival and until 10:00 am on the day of departure. Unless an arrival time has been expressly agreed, the hotel reserves the right to let booked rooms to other parties after 6:00 pm.
  5. Reserved function rooms are available to the customer only for the period agreed in writing. Use of the function rooms beyond the agreed period requires the prior approval of the Hotel “Goldener Engel”.
  6. The customer acquires no claim to the provision of specific hotel rooms or function rooms. Should agreed rooms or function rooms not be available for whatever reason, the hotel is obliged to provide an equivalent replacement, including outside the premises, insofar as this is reasonable.
  7. For changes to or cancellations of reserved hotel rooms (from 5 rooms), function rooms and packages, the following will be charged:
    • up to 40 days before arrival: no charge
    • 39 to 30 days before arrival: 30% of the agreed services/package
    • 29 to 14 days before arrival: 60% of the agreed services/package
    • 13 to 0 days before arrival: 80% of the agreed services/package

The hotel will endeavour to let unused rooms, function rooms and packages to other parties where possible in order to avoid losses. Until the contractually agreed rooms, function rooms and packages have been let to other parties, the customer must pay the invoiced amount for the duration of the contract, taking into account the above-mentioned charging rules.

  1. In order to ensure the smooth running of group bookings (from 10 persons), the customer/purchaser is obliged to provide the hotel with the list of participants 4 days before the group’s arrival.
  2. If the purchaser is not also the organiser, both shall be jointly and severally liable.
  3. Should the organiser be a political association, the contract shall additionally require the approval of the hotel management in order to be valid. If the purchaser/organiser conceals from the hotel that a political association is involved, the hotel is entitled to terminate the contract and to charge the corresponding provision costs in accordance with clause 7.
  4. If, after conclusion of the contract, it becomes apparent that the event agreed with the purchaser/organiser threatens to endanger the smooth running of business, the safety or the reputation of the hotel, the hotel may withdraw from the contract. This applies in particular if the hotel was not sufficiently informed by the purchaser/organiser of the true purpose of the event at the time the contract was concluded.
  5. Invoices are payable immediately from the invoice date without deduction. For groups of 5 persons or more, the following payment terms apply: 70% of the total price up to 7 days before arrival; 30% of the total price by departure.
  6. If the period between conclusion of the contract and the provision of services exceeds 6 months, the hotel reserves the right to make price changes without prior notice. Changes in VAT shall be for the benefit or at the expense of the customer, irrespective of the date on which the contract was concluded. All prices are in euros and include VAT.
  7. No verbal side agreements shall be made. Amendments and additions must be made in writing in order to be valid.
  8. The place of jurisdiction for both parties is Heppenheim.

For individual groups, seminars, conferences, congresses, banquets, exhibitions, lectures, etc. (from 10 persons), the following also applies:

  1. Any change in the number of participants for a joint meal must be communicated in writing no later than 3 days before the start of the event; otherwise, at least the originally ordered number of place settings (a flat rate of €30.00 per person) will be invoiced.
  2. The organiser/purchaser is liable for the payment of any food and beverages additionally ordered by the event participants.
  3. Bringing your own food and beverages requires the prior approval of the hotel.
  4. No liability is accepted for the loss of or damage to items or exhibits brought onto the premises. All decoration material must comply with fire safety regulations.
  5. The attachment of decoration material or other items is not permitted without the consent of the hotel. The organiser/purchaser is liable, without proof of fault, for damage to the hotel’s furnishings or inventory caused during set-up, dismantling or the event itself.
  6. Faults in technical or other equipment provided will be remedied immediately where possible. However, payments may not be withheld or reduced on this account.
