Windeck Castle Ruins

Windeck Castle, built to protect Lorsch Abbey after 1100, was almost completely destroyed towards the end of the 17th century. The castle ruins have been in the possession of the town of Weinheim since 1978. The ruins (easy to get to on foot and also by car) house a restaurant (Mon & Tues closed) and an extensive beer garden with a magnificent view.
