Hessian State Museum

Darmstadt

The art and natural collections of the Landgraves and Grand Dukes form the basis of today’s Landesmuseum. With collections from fields of art, cultural and natural history, the Landesmuseum is one of the few universal museums in the world today. In close co-ordination of Grand Duke Ernst-Ludwig and Alfred Messel, the building was conceived especially for the various collections and was passed in its purpose in 1906.
